A rainforest sanctuary teeming with life

RANOMAFANA

Ranomafana National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is a biodiversity hotspot located in the southeastern rainforests of Madagascar. The park is famous for its dense rainforests, fast-flowing rivers, and endemic wildlife. Ranomafana means “hot water,” named after the hot springs found in the area. It is a paradise for nature lovers and researchers alike, with over 12 species of lemurs, including the critically endangered golden bamboo lemur, alongside hundreds of unique plant species. The park offers numerous trails for all levels of trekkers, taking visitors deep into its lush forests, past waterfalls, and through valleys where the calls of lemurs echo in the trees. Bird watchers will be thrilled by the chance to spot some of the park’s rare and vibrant bird species, while the nearby village offers cultural immersion experiences, where visitors can engage with the local communities and learn about their traditions.
