A Lush Waterway in Arid Namibia

CAPRIVI

The Caprivi Strip, now known as the Zambezi Region, offers a completely different side of Namibia, where rivers flow through lush landscapes, creating a vibrant haven for wildlife and birdlife. This narrow strip of land, bordered by Angola, Botswana, Zambia, and Zimbabwe, is characterized by its rivers, including the Okavango, Zambezi, Kwando, and Chobe, making it one of the most fertile and water-rich areas in Namibia.

The region’s national parks, such as Bwabwata, Mudumu, and Nkasa Rupara, offer fantastic wildlife experiences, with elephants, hippos, buffalo, and a variety of antelope roaming the floodplains. The Caprivi is also a paradise for birdwatchers, with over 400 species found in the area. Visitors can enjoy river safaris, game drives, and cultural tours, making the Zambezi Region a lush and wildlife-rich contrast to Namibia’s more arid regions.
