The Camp

The design of Xakanaxa is deeply connected to its surroundings, blending seamlessly into the landscape. Built from local materials, the camp’s architecture incorporates traditional safari-style tented suites on raised platforms, each offering expansive views of the river and lagoon. The central areas, including the open-air dining area, lounge, and bar, are set under shady trees, providing cool retreats during the midday heat.

The camp also boasts an elevated viewing deck and a plunge pool, where guests can relax while keeping an eye on passing wildlife. Evenings at Xakanaxa are spent around the campfire or in the comfort of the lounge, exchanging stories of the day's adventures under the vast African sky.

Accommodation

Xakanaxa features 12 classic safari tents, each designed to provide guests with both comfort and a sense of immersion in the wilderness. The tents are set on raised wooden platforms, offering magnificent views over the Khwai River and surrounding floodplains. Each spacious tent is elegantly appointed with twin or double beds, en-suite bathrooms with hot showers, flush toilets, and a private deck, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring.

The tents maintain an authentic safari feel, with canvas walls that let in the natural sounds of the bush, while offering all the modern amenities needed for a comfortable stay. Dining

Xakanaxa dining experience is one of casual elegance, with meals served in the open-air boma or in the thatched dining room, both offering stunning views of the surrounding wilderness. The camp’s chefs prepare a diverse range of dishes, blending international cuisine with local flavors to create a unique culinary experience. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are freshly prepared each day, with an emphasis on using local and seasonal ingredients.

Safari & Activities

Xakanaxa offers a wide range of activities, designed to showcase the incredible diversity of the Moremi Game Reserve and Okavango Delta.

• Game Drives: Morning and afternoon game drives in open 4x4 vehicles take guests deep into the Moremi Game Reserve, one of Botswana’s richest wildlife areas. The game viewing in this region is exceptional, with frequent sightings of elephants, lions, leopards, buffalo, and a variety of antelope species.
