Panorama Route Tour

Whispers of gold brought fortune seekers to the Panorama area in Mpumalanga from around the world during the gold rush of the 1880s. Whilst those men and women toiled to explore this mountainous region, it’s now one of the most beautiful places in the world to explore, with its magnificent scenery and sweeping views, and fascinating geological formations.

MUST DO ACTIVITIES:

  • Visit Pilgrim’s Rest, an old gold mining town frozen in time, now a national museum
  • Explore Blyde River Canyon, the third largest canyon in the world, and take in the Three Rondavels, the iconic mountain tops which resemble local huts
  • Take in the view from God’s Window, so called for the panoramic view of the Lowveld more than 900 metres below
  • Seek out the many waterfalls in the area, including Mac Mac Falls, Berlin Falls and Bridal Veil Falls
  • Go fly fishing for trout in the many rivers and dams in the area
